Need a laptop for wireless only

I would be interested in getting a cheap laptop (even refurb) that has good wireless and 512mb of ram but other than that I really don't need anything. Thanks for any ideas!
 
I think what JustaGeek is saying is this:

If you choose any, repeat any, laptop you will be fine. However, he was pretty subtle, so I may have that wrong. Do you perhaps have a budget in mind for this?
 
Any laptop found in stores, including the least expensive ones sold for $300 - $400, have at least 512MB of RAM and a wireless network card.

I would strongly recommend getting one with at least 1GB of RAM, since 512MB is not really enough even for XP, or today's equivalent - Vista Basic.
 
Heck...I have an IBM 600 (PII 200, 194 megs and a 6 gig HD, Win2k). It cruzes the net/does email fine with a 802.11b PCMCIA card...and cost me $25. So, yes, basically any laptop that will boot will do what you want.

 
Oh ok. I was looking for a model recommendation or a good brand. I was looking to spend as little as possible which is why I mentioned refurbished. Thanks.

I always highly recommend Compaq/HP.

High quality components and great support website (drivers/software).

Same here I got used Compaq Presario last year and I bought 10.00 PCMCIA card (wireless G). It works wonderfully.
 
Watch the year end sales and you can optimize your $400. Anything at all will me your requirement.
