I'm looking to get a laptop for college around or less than $800 plz help. It will be using for Taking note, watching HD movies, light video editing, light gaming, and web surfing. I would like it to have a battery that last 5+ hours, an HD screen n smaller than 15" and be lightweight. Thx for any help. :)

Acer Aspire V5 11.6 inch model hits those as long as 768p is "HD" and you can give somewhat on battery life. It's $550 but they have a Facebook promo that gets you $50 off.

Some other options.

Get an Ultrabook of some sort. You can find them for under $800 if you look for sales. Anything meeting the Ultrabook standard will meet all your need and will be nice and light to lug around campus. They'll also have long battery life (typically 7-8 hours) and 13-14" screens. Sam's Club has a nice Samsung Series 5 for $650. Tiger Direct has a refurbished Acer Aspire S3-951-6646 for $650. Costco has several models of the HP Envy 6T for $700-850. Micro Center has the Toshiba Portege Z835-P360 13.3" or the Aspire S3-391-9606 13.3" (i7 based) for $899 or the Dell Inspiron 14z for ($799).

Look in the weekly Best Buy sale flyer. They might have some deals too.

All of these would fit your requirements nicely.

IIRC, Amazon also has a special page where they collect all of their Ultrabooks. You might find some deals there too.

"Ultrabook" is an Intel trademark that they license to laptop manufacturers to use on laptops meeting a certain set of requirements. These aren't underpowered netbooks; they're full blown highly capable portable computers, but to be an Ultrabook, they also have to be less than .8 inches thick, weigh less than 3.3 pounds, and have 6-8 hour battery life, among many other requirements.

Wikipedia's listing for Ultrabook actually lists many of the authorized Ultrabook models.

But you can search "Ultrabook" and find the deals on various makes and models.
