My mom is staying at our shore house all summer which is wireless and needs a computer that will last a few years and do basic things such as Email, Ms Office, Web surfing etc

Any really good deals out there right now like a Dell after coupons or something

I need something at least decent

SHE NEEDS THIS BY FRIDAY

Dell probably won't work since you need it by Friday. It'll have to be a local store, which will greatly reduce your choices on a deal.

Since you have more time now, there are a few more deals available to you...

That Acer at Buy.com is a nice deal. I think there is a $20 off coupon available too, plus $30 off if you are willing to get the Buy.com credit card.

Check out the forums on slickdeals and fatwallet. They have lots of members posting deals on laptops.

I actually just checked out with the acer deal on buy.com :)

I got the acer + 50pk dvd-r's for $525 standard shipping
I used a $15 off coupon.

I opted out of free shipping because it just takes like 10 days to get the damn thing

Maybe get a MacBook www.apple.com (it's a little over $1000 + tax + shipping maybe), but you can't beat a Mac's simplicity if all she does is Email, Ms Office, Web surfing etc. Might be a bit expensive for your budget, but it can run Mac OS X and Windows XP (using Boot Camp). I'm saving to get the Macbook black (why $200 extra is beyond me).
