I need a device i can mount in a telco closet that filtering web traffic. Something to keep employees off the wrong websites.
Small form factor, managable and reliable.
good luck there, i dont know of anything GOOD that is sort of SOHO. Surfcontrol makes a nice piece of software, but it runs on a Windows based server. If you could find a pc small enough you could run it on that and stick it in the telco closet.
ISA will do this a well. May be a bit of overkill but I would take ISA over sonicwall though. Sonicwall is smaller and you are going to be hard pressed to implement ISA for $500 but ISA does a better job when it comes to application filtering. You would need a dedicated server to run ISA. The up side is you would get your internet filtering as well as a true enterprise class firewall. Just my 2 cents
Sonicwall makes SOHO version that can do content filtering. It's very good, I work at a HS and with the no child left behind act. All schools that have internet have to be doing some sort of content filtering. We have been using sonicwall in all of our locations and it is flawless.
We recently got a pro 3060 and the stuff it can do is incredible.
