Need a hard drive wiping utility

I just sold one of my old IDE hard drives on ebay and I would like to wipe it clean before shipping it out.

The drive is connected to my computer using a simple IDE to USB converter.
I tried running DBAN from DOS but it does not detect USB drives.

Basically I need a freeware utility that will run within windows, detect, and scrub my drive.
Any suggestions?

You only need to overwrite it 1 time. All the paranoia over doing 10 writes is just that.


Another way to do it is just copy a bunch a files you don't care if anyone sees and then delete them.

What you could do is build a VM that will boot off of the DBAN iso and present the USB attached drive to that VM. I know you can do this with VMware workstation.
