So, which one should I get? My laptop has bluetooth if that matters. I have played around with Google Earth and would love for it to work with it. If I purchase Google Earth can I download the areas where I'll be permanently so while I'm on the road I can still use it and see them in high res?

Sorry for the short post. Have TONS to do before this trip.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You'll probably get more answers in Peripherals.

On my last Europe trip I used Autoroute and the Microsoft USB receiver. After that I tried bluetooth and it's not quite compatible yet. You may also want to look here

Hmm, I replied to this thread last night but apparently it didn't register or was lost when the thread was moved. I said to get a handheld Garmin with an SD slot. What are you gonna do, walk around with your laptop or sit on the train with your laptop showing you the landscape you are going over? Nope, you can't download data to Google Maps.
