Long time lurker, first time poster.

Can anybody recommend me some websites for purchasing parts at relatively cheap prices? Looking to pick up some new brake pads and rotors...

Would appreciate it fellas! :D

I would just buy brake pads locally. Not much savings to be had ordering them online, and they're a safety part. What if they fail while you're waiting for the shipment to arrive?

Now if you're upgrading from stock pads, rotors and calipers to an aftermarket setup, that's a different story.

I use Rockauto, btw.

rockauto.com gets 99% of my stuff. Always good to crossreference amazon too, they have some good vendors.

For all else my local O'Reilly's.

Rock Auto - search for a 5% off coupon code as well to help save you a few bucks.

Great prices, huge selection, no tax, and cheap shipping.

We bought a window regulator at Napa locally, $156. Rock Auto wanted $56 for the same part - even the premium brand was only $80.

For brake pads look local such as advance and their coupons. Their gold pads are really good and with coupon beat many online sites once you factor in shipping.

Another vote for Rockauto.com .. easy site to navigate, they have many selections, including a lot of OEM parts. Prices are good and they ship quickly. If you need something same day, best bet is to locate a PepBoys or Autozone near you. They will usually have the more commonly needed parts in stock.

RockAuto seems to be the fan favorite, I'll give them a shot. Any of you try <suspected spam. Nice try...> I've got a coupon for them as well..

Edit: Thx for all the feedback btw! Like I said, long time lurker, love the community.

We're glad you like it here. Of course, if you've spent time here, you'd know that we're generally on our toes about removing spam. As you registered, requested websites, and replied to your own request with a website, it's assumed on general principles that your link was spam. I'm giving you the benefit of a doubt (hence you're not banned.)

The vague hope that maybe someone, somewhere will click on a spam link, especially on a (somewhat ;)) intelligent technical forum such as AT, never ceases to amaze me.

Edit: And yes, Rockauto.

I used to drink the RockAuto kool-aid, now I am apathetic towards RockAuto. Great interface, easy to find the parts you want assuming they're in stock. Price is kinda competitive, but shipping usually makes it the most expensive option overall. Finding a PN in RockAuto and then checking Amazon is usually a good option. Prime shipping FTW.

I don't have a single go-to parts store, but I do like ordering through AutoZone online for home delivery. There are routinely "20-25% off plus free shipping" codes, sometimes better. Stuff ships slow-ass ground, so prepare to wait a week or so, but it's nearly always the least expensive option in my experience. I've never had trouble with AutoZone parts, but I don't use AutoZone brake pads (I do use AutoZone rotors though).

I found a couple Mazda dealers (two of my three cars are Mazdas) with good online parts sites that I use for specialty stuff. For my MR2 I know the owner of a store who specializes in MR2 parts and hardware. He is also a dealer for Porterfield brakes, so I order brake pads through him.
