Need a good wireless bridge

Should a Linksys WRT54G router with DD-WRT work or is there a better product for me. Also, if I hook a cantenna up to one side will the other antenna work to serve my local area or should I just stick with the regular antennas?

You can get a good bridge without Flashing.
