Ok, so my hard drives are dying. Plain and simple. Both of them. I have everything backed up, but certain operations that I run, my computer just crashes. Is there ANYTHING I can do to prolong the life just for a little bit longer. Even if NOT, I still want to verify that the drive is actually bad.

This is on WinXP, and I can't find the good ole' ScanDisk. So, I dunno.

Any freeware/shareware programs would be great. I have googled a lot, and been to the major sites, but can't really find much.

Thanks in Advance.

Right click on the drive, select properties, go to the Tools tab, and select Error-Checking.

Thanks! That's probably all I need.
