Need a good Point and Shoot entry level Digicam

So my girlfriend's birthday is this week. My gift for her fell through (GD websites saying stuff is in stock and then not shipping for weeks) and I'm looking to get her a decent Digital Camera. It won't need to be anything super special, more something amateur or entry level.

I have a Kodak CX7430 and I love it for ease of use. This was my first digicam and i found it to be a great beginners camera. Only its discontinued or so I think.

I would like something along those lines...only quabble I had with the CX7430 was the time it took to focus and sometimes if it couldn't find an easy focal point it shot blurry pics, but nothing that couldn't be easily overcome with a 2nd attempt.

Opinions and suggestions?

BTW I'm thinking ~$250 range
