need a good photo archiver for medical photos

I am buying a retinal (eyeball) camera and I'm too computer savvy to buy the "photo storage software" that comes with the camera for $2000 so Iwant to find one that I can archive thousands of photos... it has to be quick, use keywords, and able to capture photos from a live camera source. anyone got a good one?
