Need a good MP3 player that works with Mac

My friend has a Mac. (Friend's dad actually) She wants an MP3 player that has a screen and is compatible with the Mac. It also needs to be cheaper ($250 is out of the question) She doesn't need alot of room, but not with the price premium of flash. Shes not buying because of size, but just because she doesn't need alot of storage (though more then the 1GB thumb units). Is there any good player out there or are you stuck with an iPod if you have a mac?

I would say very unlikely. These are "refurbs" not "used" so they are all cleaned up and tested (unlike a "used" product which would be sold as is). I bought a refurb Shuffle last year and it looked brand new. Sometimes Apple sells overstock or recently discontinued models as refurbs. The inventory is always shifting though so if you see a good deal you should grab it 'cause there is no telling when it will disappear.

I think Apple will polish the unit before shipping it to you. Every FAT32-formatted player that under Windows can be accessed in Explorer and that doesn't require some fancy software should work with OS X, too, but I haven't tested any players.

any MP3 player that works as a USB mass storage device should work with a mac. all those cheap chinease players should work with it. ipods scratch no worse then any other player. but i would get a case for it.

I have a creative MuVo TX, and it have worked fine under Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS

My Archos AV500 100gb works with mac, there is even an itunes plugin on the player's HD! Havent tried it on a mac but according to the instructions it does, and with itunes supposedly.

So in light of this news, is there a possibility of getting a Creative Zen Micro to work? Or will it require special software? (Ive never owned an MP3 player before, so I wouldn't know.)
