Need a good Monitor

I am looking to get a good 24-26" monitor and have around $400 to spend on it. I will mostly be gaming with it so from what I know that puts me in the *TN* category vs. the *IPS* (which I understand is more for video/graphics editing/creation. My only caveat is that it be a solid proven monitor that will last me a long time. Please no ViewSonic's - I've encountered so many pixel related problems with those that I doubt I will ever recommend/buy another.

im typing this up on that montior. it's a TN panel and after tax, california recycling fee, and shipping, it came out to $394 shipped for me back when it was $340 a few months ago. should be closer to $375 now if you have to pay all of that. the monitor has good color quality for a TN panel and it's 27.5 inches, which gives you a ton of screen real estate. the stand is also very sturdy and has a good range of adjustment options. all in all i have been very happy with my purchase.

Viewing angles on LCD's are one of my biggest issues.
160° / 160° viewing angles seem kind of tight. Does the image quality degrade much when you view off axis?

If you are willing to settle for 23 inch, NEC has just released the EA231WMi and its only $369.95 from B&H (a very well respected store amoung professionals)
