Im upgrading to a Duron 800
and i need a cheap board for it...up to $200AU...about $100 US
i want a nice stable board with o/c features
and something that will take an athlon
also will a generic 300watt PS be ok to use? cause im cheap and dont wanna spend too much
if need be i can run my drives and fans off a seperate AT PS i can put in my case is this a good idea?

Look for an Asus A7V133 or IWill KK266(NON-RAID), they're good ocer's and I know I've seen them at pricewatch around $100. They don't support DDR but that probably doesn't matter in your case.

P.S. If u can have either one, go for KK266, it's a slightly better ocer than A7V133

i'll second going with the Iwill KK266. They are likely to be discounted a bit more than before since I believe they have been replaced with the KK266Plus now. For me, the stability was the most important factor, but the overclocking capabilities are top notch as well.

For a Duron processor itself, 300W is more than sufficient. The other components determine how much power you need for your PSU. Not sure how cheap you want to go, but the Enlight 7237 and Inwin S500 are fairly popular and affordably priced. And very well constructed quality-wise.

The
ECS K7S5A is only around $65 - $75 and it supports either SDram or DDR ram. I haven't received mine yet, but others on this forum really seem to love it. You will not be able to overclock well with the ECS board. If you are looking to overclock, you'll need to spend more money. Not sure about the Power supply. I was looking for 350W not 300W. Some good brands are Sparkle, Enermax, Antec.
