So anybody reccommend a good messenger bag for college? Yes, I know, it's for college, and Im pretty sure I wont have my textbooks in the bag. Just a couple of notebooks, pens papaer, and stuff....so I dont need a shoulder bag.

So what are some good, stylish, sturdy messenger bags?

Got a nice black one @ gap last year. Cost me $30-40 or something like that but it was pretty durable and nice since it was just plain black~ :)

you will on occassion want to bring textbooks to class just depends on the prof, a lot of mine refer to the text in class majority of the time. YMMV.

Check Marshalls Tj Maxx Ross or Nordstroms Rack. They end up having alot of the good name brand bags but at a fraction of the cost. Gap this time of year has no sales due to all the school kids going back. I picked up a leather Ben Sherman messenger bag from Nordstroms Rack for $19.99 over the weekend. Sturdy bag and looks great.

My girlfriend bought me a Jack Spade messenger bag (Greene St. is the model I think). It's really nice, freaking bomb proof, but a little expensive (I wouldn't have bought it myself, is what I'm saying).

Well, a "messenger bag" is a fairly wide description...do you want something small to carry notebooks and whatnot, or a full-sized bag that'll carry a laptop and books occasionally? DingDingDao's Jack Spade back is great, good design, simple, clean...well made. I picked up a decent Banana Republic leather messenger bag a few years back when I went to college...it was like 180 or something. If you're not looking for such a "nice" look, look into Timbuktu or something like that...rugged, well designed.

A budget, look preference and size requirement would help us more :)

Second that. I have two. Indestructible, and they have the best strap arrangement, if you're picky about that kind of thing.

Great stuff...you'll see a lot of people with the little red square on their bags. Very sturdy, well made...the looks could be a little more refined, but you go elsewhere for that.

This all reminds me...I could use a new bag...my current one has gone through a coffee spill and water pipe leak. It currently has bits of drop-ceiling-tile on it. :p :(

I"m just looking for something small, to carry paper, pencil....nothing big...just regular school stuff(and as stated before, probably no big textbook).

I just want something simple, solid color, and just plain....you know, but still, "cool"
