Need a good laptop under $1400, any suggestions?

I've done a lot with desktops, but the last laptop I had was a 75 MHz Pentium with no CD-drive or audio. So I've been out of the loop for a while in this area.

I'd like something with decent video (not that I'll be using it for gaming much, but I'd like the option of playing UT2K4 with an FPS higher than 30 at native resolution). Built-in 802.11b (or 802.11g) would be a big plus, as would a DVD drive and (if possible) an absence of built-in pointing devices (I can't stand anything less than a 2-button optical mouse with scroll wheel).

So can anyone suggest a good model? I heard I could get a refurbished Dell 5150 for $1350.
