My gigabyte p35c ds3r is dead for some odd reason. I don't have the time to wait for RMA to process, so I'm gonna just go all out and say that $$ is NOT an issue for me right now. I will buy whatever is BEST.

P35 or X38, and if so which one?
SLI or CrossFire is probably something I'll never have interest for, but with that said I do have an 8800GTX.
And... board HAS to have Intel Matrix raid - ICH9R.
MUST be DDR2, not DDR3.

THE LINKS BELOW ARE NOT WHAT I'M STUCK TO, SO PLEASE MAKE SUGGESTIONS TO ANYTHING! :)

Here is the P35 I was looking at:
DFI LP UT P35 T2R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Here is the X38 boards I was looking at:
ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA / SE LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail (this SOUNDS better than the P5E, lol)

GIGABYTE GA-X38-DQ6 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Ultra Durable 2, Ultra Cooling Intel Motherboard - Retail

I want to order from newegg b/c their ground shipping always takes 1 business day to me.

Please - help me quick. Thanks so much!!!

What are you looking for? Bells and whistles or performance that matters? The Abit IP35-E is only $70 after MIR and performs the same as those boards but doesn't have all the bells and whistles.

I want all the bells and whistles. I'm an overclocker. Good question - thx, jon.

Also, I think the IP35-E doesn't do intel matrix raid, and I need that.

Why not go with another gigabyte? I know you probably wouldn't want the exact same board but how about a p35-ds4?

Thats the one I have been eyeing. Anything wrong with it you have read?

I wish I got that damn board 6 weeks ago instead of the Giga p35c... in all honesty this giga board WAS GOOD... and I didn't go nuts on it, but there was nothing really wrong with it.

I can't get the IP35 Pro b/c newegg is not estimating 1 day delivery with it (meaning it's not going from the NJ warehouse)... I live in NY and need a board tomorrow!!

not in NY my friend!!!

man, i love Abit... i'm upset I couldn't go with them, but oh well...

I picked up the DFI... VERY pricey I gotta say and that's without a doubt a downside, but i wouldn't mind being one of the 1st few with it.

i hope it works out for you. i saw that thing a while ago and said to myself "why so damn expensive!?" but i guess it's the transpiper thingy, 3 pci-e 16x, and the DFI name. crazy.

and how's that board treating you? great OCer?

I haven't overclocked yet because I have BAD RAM, but according to reviews from all over the interweb they say it is an overclocking beast only HARDOCP say other wise, maybe they are using an old BIOS or something.

I overclocked my E6400 to 2.8 with out any troubles for a day, I couldn't go higher because of my RAM which are really cheap ones....very cheap ones!

so i went with the DFI T2R with transpiper... had i known what a pain the transpiper was, i would have gotten the one without it... i mean, i just don't know where it's best to put it - inside or outside case... and what the best orientation is... etc...
