Looking for a decent casual watch. Looking at these two right now
citizen ecodrive 180
Eco drive so no traditional battery to replace, the internal rechargeable one they say lasts 20+ years. Unfortunately, the crystal is acrylic, basically plastic and easily scratched, but atleast scratches are supposed to be able to be buffed out.
tissot pr50
Automatic, I think ETA movement. However after reading alot, I'm not convinced automatic is really worthwhile. It's not as accurate and it needs to be serviced every 5-10 years, and a good service job is basically a disassemble and rebuild, which easily costs $150+ on a $200 watch. It seems like movement can be just swapped, but still, that's got to be atleast $100 in parts.
Otherwise, the crystal is sapphire, which is extremely difficult to scratch
Will consider other suggestions, cost a moderate factor and can pay more, but if it costs double or three times there better be a good reason why besides just marketing.
I won't buy a seiko off ebay, i've read several reports of fakes/feikos on google on ebay watches.
Must be a brand with some sort of history instead of a fashion brand (ie guess, ken cole, etc.).
