for my Pentium 3 800mHz, slot processor. It MUST be quiet, and it MUST cool well. The one I have now does neither - my room becomes a sauna within 30 minutes, and it sounds like a friggin jet engine. Any help would be much appreciated.

HS: Alpha P3125, if you can still find one. Buy it without the fans. If you can't find that, a GlobalWin VOS32 should work as well.
Fan: Two of these 16.1 db is DAMN quiet, with them right by your ear they'll just be a slight whir of air.

Or, if you want to order from the UK grab one of these. They are also available in the US from NEDComp.

This combination will cool a P3 just fine, I use the retail AMD HS + one of these fans each on my dual TBirds. Works like a charm. Remember that P3's don't put off much heat compared to current CPU's, so they're very easy to cool. I ran a P3 700 @ 933 for months with just one of the radial fin molex coolers. They're more than adequate for P3 cooling, & very, very quiet at 22db. I don't feel like doing the math, but it's relatively easy to figure out which would be louder: 2 fans at 16.1 db, or one at 22 db.

All of the suggestions I gave will work on a slot processor, had it been S370 there would have been many more options available.
