Building a cheap Athlon 64 rig for my older bro, here are the specs:

Athlon 64 3200 (Winchester) skt939
MSI K8n Nforce 4 board
1gb corsair value ram
Evga Geforce 6600GT PCI-E
sb live value sound card
160gb WD hard drive
dvd-rw

here are my case/psu options (dont want to spend more than $70 on case/psu)

1. ANtec midtower chassis which includes a smartpower 350W ($60)

or

2. Maxtop midtower case ($30) and THermaltake silentpower 420W($36)

BTW no overclocking will done.

I'd tell your bro to fork over about $25.00 - $40.00 more dollars for a good power supply.

The TT 420 is an aswome PSU.

Yes, some will say 18A isnt enough but it sure is enough to power an A64/6800GT/3HD @ 11.92V.

I would get the 420 since the smartpower series isnt exactly the best of antecs psus although I could be wrong.
