I'd memtest86+ the RAM, only costs time. And I might doubt the CPU if the MB and RAM work fine with another CPU.

the pc would freeze at different point of the install.....at first i thought was
a harddrive problem but stuck in a new 200gig but same thing
so then i realize it could be becos such a large size was not supported,
then i think that no it couldn't since the mobo would have given invalid volume
at bios.....

oh so u say it's most likely ram problem eh......okay mebbe i'll reinstall
one ram chip at one time to mebbe narrow down to culprit

(my other machine uses ddr ram)

Download and then run memtest86+.
