I just got an Acousticase 6607. It's based off the antec 3700 BQE. It comes w/ no PS and no fans. I attached all the acoustic padding that's included, it took about 20 minutes. I installed a 120mm Acoustifan exhuast, my Zalman 400w PS, my Zalman 7000Cu, and my Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer. Those, along with my 2 WD800JBs are the only moving parts in the system.

The Zalman 7000Cu is loudest when it's turned up to full. When I turn it all the way down, the hard drives are the loudest. I'm blown away by how quiet this case is, compared to my old setup using mostly the same parts, but in an Antec 1080 with Panaflo L1As.

It just now occured to me that you weren't looking for a quiet solution. But if you are, this is the way to go. Just be away, it's kind of expensive. Case alone (includes acoustic padding) is $175, and the Acoustifan is $25. Then if you have a loud power supply, you'll need a new one of those for another $90...

The Sonota is definitely a nice case, but the Acousticase 6607 is in another league for quietness.

Oh, I also forgot to mention, I ripped out the standard rubber grommeted hard drive cage and instead placed my hard drives on sorbothane strips on the bottom of the case to reduce vibration.

I'll second the Sonata. These things are VERY nice, the only bad thing is that the paint attracts dust and fingerprints.

Antec 3700AMB/Compucase 6A19 series (actually the same case with different fronts). IMO, one of the best case designs ever.
. I think you can get the Compucase at directron (w/o PSU, $39.), axiontech, coolcases or mwave ($49. w/PSU but shipping chg is ridic.). But it comes w/ a very good PSU (Heroichi 300W - see review at Tom's Hardware) that should be easy to sell if you don't need it.
. And here's a link to a thread on the topic: Cases with 120mm fans .

There's the :sun: !

Yes, most mid-tower cases (defined as less than 19" tall) still have 80mm fan mounts (one or more) front and rear. Most cases can be modified to accept 120mm in front and/or rear. But some cases just don't leave enough flat panel space on the back to fit. There are some cases that have 120 mounts on one side or the other, but not both, e.g. my Chyang Fun has space for 120 mount in front and 2x80mm mounts on the back. I just bought a xouple of 120x25 fans from bgmicro.com for only $3.75 each.
