Need a good 2 player game

Ok so I am trying to get my girlfriend of 3 years to tolerate pc gaming I figure a good way of doing this is playing together. What are some good 2 player games (games that can be played on the same system by two people at the same time) for PC. I have all the EA sports titles so I got those covered. I am kinda at a loss for anything else that would fits this criteria, after all the PC isn?t exactly a console. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

Some brain games my wife likes to play are You don't know Jack series and Who wants to be a millionaire.

thanks guys. i tried worms before but it was the "i hate it when you let me win" "i hate it when you beat me" thing. why are girls like this. it took me almost 30mins to get her to play FIFA with me.

Lego Star Wars was awesome until she took my computer from me at a lan to play. It was cool because she was having a good time but it was a lan. thanks for the input. anymore ideas would be great.

I will have to look into serious sam.

Most of the games I know that let you play like that are really old, and most of those are turned based strategy games.
You Don't Know Jack
Master of Orion 2
Steel Panthers - there are two different free versions of this game.

You try Guild Wars ? That is a good one without a subscription fee to play together. I take it you both have computers to play on. My gf loves WoW but that costs money etc but she loves it. She was a non gamer before WoW. I even got her Tomb Raider Legends which she is loving now as well.

Whatever you do, don't buy The Sims 2 or she will forget that you exist. Trust me, I am not kidding.

Yea that was a mistake, my sister used to play for about 5 hours straight on my pc.

i got 3 words for you. jump n bump. google it.

oh btw, to run it full screen you need to add -fullscreen to the shortcut after the .exe"

have fun 😉, and dont get too good at it, or she will hate you after a while.

I had most success playing adventure games with my wife. Broken Sword, Grim Fandango, DOTT, Monkey Island that sort of stuff. We also played Vice City and San Andreas together, taking it in turn to do the missions. Also Psychonauts and Fahrenheit in the same way. It's not really two-player in the usual sense, but for some reason ;-) this sort of co-operative play seemed to work out for the best.
