Need a free/cheap hard drive cloning program

One that can make an EXACT copy of a hard drive for recovery purposes (not just copying partitions or such). I bought HDClone Basic yesterday, but the thing locks right as it starts everytime. I've emailed the company to see if they can recommend anything, but I probably won't get an answer for a few days. In any case, I'm ready to look for alternate programs in case that one never works for me. Any recommendations?

FYI, I'm using Windows XP, have no floppy drive (so I need something that can provide a bootable CD), and I'm moving data from a nearly dead PATA drive to a new SATA drive.
