Need a FAT32 partition

I would like to delete a partition on one of my hard drives and then replace it with two smaller partitions, one NTFS and one FAT32. The reason I want FAT32 is so that I can read and write from Windows, Linux, and BSD. Is there a way I can create a FAT32 partition with Windows XP? Is FAT32 the best choice for this purpose?

Yes and probably.

You can use the disk management tool. Control panel > administritive tools > computer management > storage tab > disk management

You can make FAT32 in windows XP.
I think to only time you cant, is when you're setting up Retail XP from scratch.
When you are on the blue install screen and its asking you to make partitions and format. Whichever drive/partition XP gets installed on has to be NTFS. And even that may have a workaround.

Oh, and disk manangement is definately the way to go for formatiing your drive.
The right-click -> properties on your drive doesnt have nearly as any options.

Windows Xp will only allow you to format a partition under 32gb otherwise it will only give you the option for NTFS. If you want to make a fat32 partition bigger than that you will have to use a 3rd party software to do it like partition magic or similar.

Edit
The "FAT32" Option Is Unavailable in Disk Management

found that on microsoft KB. You can try it and see if it works

Sh1t thats right!
I remember now, FAT32 can only do 32GB (with windows). When I was making partitions during install I made one under that size. Thats when I got the option for FAT32.
