I bought an Alpha PAL8045 for my Athlon XP 1900+, but I have no fan for it yet. I am looking for a fan that will let me overclock, but I do not want a loud fan, like the Delta 68CFM. I was looking at two fans already, the Sunon 50.6CFM @ 40dB and the YS Tech 48.5CFM @ 36.9dB. Have you listened to any of these fans and what do you think of them?

Do you recommend any of these or do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

I'm running the Sunon.....works great and isn't too loud (use to have a 7000rpm Delta on a Celeron, so I know what loud is!). Keeps my temps around 32-34C at idle and 38 is the highest I've seen, tho I haven't really tried to push it much. Got it on a PAL8045 and 1600+ running @ 1540 (140x11)

Scitex,
Just wondering, which Sunon fan did you purchase? I was thinking about gettin' the Sunon 80mm Whisper (25 cfm/Model KD1208PTB4) for my Alpha PAL8045 on top of the XP1800+ chip. Think I can pull that off fine?

I'm using the 50cfm model that TazExprez mentioned. Got it at 2cooltek.com as a heatsink/fan combo.

I say go with the YS tech. I have both fans and currently have the YS on my 8045. I had the 50cfm sunon running as 1 of my intake fans in my SX1030 and it was just too loud. Certainly not as loud as the delta black label 60mm that I had on another HS before, but still kinda loud none the less. 3-4db is a bigger difference then you think.

If I had the Alpha 8045 I'd get the Enermax Adjustable 80mm cooling fan. Manual adjustable fan speed, 1000 RPM ~ 3000 RPM. 2-ball-bearing clear fan.

Seems like a great combo, crank it up to 3000rpm to see how high your chip will go if it's to loud just back the fan speed down till you find a nice speed & noise ratio.

I'm using a Panaflo H1A - 40CFM, 32.1 DBa...works great. 35 degrees celsius on a 8k7a with the 8045 & ASII, naturally.
