<< No, I don't think that it is broken. Anyway, I still can't find a driver for my cd rom. The funny thing is, is that a while back, under the device manager, it stated that it had a driver installed. I believe it says Creative 5233e cd rom under the driver. Then I was foolish and screwed things up and have no way of getting the darn thing back. I've tried clearing the bios and unplugging all the cabbles and the latter. No such luck. I've even looked at the Creative website where I couldn't find a driver even there. There has to be some sort of a driver and besides I did start out with it. Any help is appreciated, thank you. >>
Your drive is bad.
There's no such thing as a Win98 driver for a certain CD-ROM, at least not one that's NOT included in all Win9x operating systems. THey aren't the best CD-ROM drives, (They are BTC OEM drives) and have a slightly higher-than normal failure rate.
Your drive is bad, RMA it back to where you bought it.
