Need a driver for a Creative 5233e cd rom

I can't seem to find this driver for my cd rom anywhere. I am having problems with some of my games that will not launch. I recently bought a Star wars game, and when I try to get it in the cd rom for it to install nothing comes up. No install screen what so ever. Even when I try to access the cd rom drive through My computer is says that there is nothing in it. Please send any link which would be to me helpful. Thanks.

I doubt you will find maufacturer specific driver for a cd-rom.
Is it only for this game, or the problem is same for all other CDs? and which OS are you using?

Well, I'm running Windows 98 and the problem has occured before, but after numerous times of ejecting and inserting the cd it would noramally fix the problem. Yet, on this particular game, it just can't seem to read it at all. The game is Star wars rogue squadron. I've tried taking out the cords which attach it on the motherboard to no avail. It is a fairly new drive, Creative 52x, but I just can't get a finger on it. The only thing that cathces my attenton is that it is running on a default windows cd rom driver, not the actual creative driver. I bought the drive as an Oem, but thought I would be able to get the driver I needed. Thanks for your help.

No, I don't think that it is broken. Anyway, I still can't find a driver for my cd rom. The funny thing is, is that a while back, under the device manager, it stated that it had a driver installed. I believe it says Creative 5233e cd rom under the driver. Then I was foolish and screwed things up and have no way of getting the darn thing back. I've tried clearing the bios and unplugging all the cabbles and the latter. No such luck. I've even looked at the Creative website where I couldn't find a driver even there. There has to be some sort of a driver and besides I did start out with it. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

you don't need a driver for your cd drive as windows natively supports those devices.
suggest you try cleaning your laser lens for a starter. also is that game an original copy?

Your drive is bad.

There's no such thing as a Win98 driver for a certain CD-ROM, at least not one that's NOT included in all Win9x operating systems. THey aren't the best CD-ROM drives, (They are BTC OEM drives) and have a slightly higher-than normal failure rate.

Your drive is bad, RMA it back to where you bought it.

I have the same exact drive for Windows XP and it sucks. I'm going to change it the first chance I get. My best Nero CD Speed is around 20x.... terrible, just terrible. CD-ROM's are so cheap, newegg has a sony 52x for $28. You'd be better off replacing it.
