Need a download test program.

Specifically a program that can download non stop and log info. As the file grows too big, it will auto dump. This is to test my brand new cable install. From the street to my house is a new wire and all new equipment inside. Would like to start a download and have it run continuous to test stability, and speed.

A search has found me nothing but adware.

I don't know if this works for you but there is an opensource program called "iperf" that is designed to evaluate network performance between two machines.

There is a GUI frontend called jperf if you want a nice interface. I Believe jperf requires java runtime, can't remember.
