Hey guys...semi-long time poster on the computer forums here...but not on these new subdivisions...

I need some recs on seriously dirt cheap 37" + HDTV's. It would be going in a bedroom and mostly playing Xbox360 and watching some upscaled DVD's with my current HT system.

Was looking at stuff like Vizio, Visco, Olevia, and the like from places like Wal-Mart.

I feel like I'm totally insulting myself...two months ago I had paid for and was ready to pick up a new Panasonic 50" 1080p plasma. But, now I'm getting divorced so priorities and money are different...so just looking for a quick easy fix for the new bachelor pad..

of course $ is important..but I'd like moderate quality.

Thanks.

The 37" Vizio is around $750 now, and the 42" is less than $900 at Sam's Club. Both are 720p sets. I think Costco has a Vizio 42" thats 1080p. Its around $1,200.

The Wal-Mart versions of the Vizios are missing a few features (I know the 37" Wal-Mart is missing the S-Video input, and some of the picture/zoom settings).

I would look into the Westinghouse 37" 1080p LVM-37W3 that everyone was raving about at AVSForum & Hard Forums (there were two huge threads)... I think it was going for around $800 - $900 before.

The Vizio 42" 1080p was going for $1,000 at Costco with a $200 off coupon. People at slickdeals are expecting it to return to the lower price soon.

F'it. I'm gettin a cheap azz (but nice) Acer 22" monitor to play Xbox and watch movies on. I'll spend a bit of the extra money on a comfy bean bag that I can sit close to it with ;)
