Need a device that can share a printer and storage.

Does such a thing exist. I have a USB external storage drive and a USB printer. Is there any single device that can share both of these on my home network? Sort of a print/file server all-in-one. Wired is preferred but wireless would work if that's all there is. Thanks.

connect devices to one computer that remains on, just use native windows networking support and share the drive and printer through file sharing

Yepper. This is a very simple way to share your printer and drive.

Since there are only two or three devices like this on the market, I am not sure that it is a good idea to look for such a combo *I think that BuffaloTech. use to make one).

USB printers can be turned into a network Device with a small module connected to them.

Example, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833130025

A specific Printer Server might not be compatible with your printer, so you need the flexibility to be able to exchange (which impossible with one combo unit).

NAS is an intriguing issue, the entry-level units that take USB drive all s*x.

Depending on you needs you should search for NAS at the few hundred $ level.
