Thanks, cleaned it - dissasembled it too. I thought it might be a burr on the magnet strcuture or the like... nope.

Is the L1A thermo controlled?

Man, it's your lucky day. I just found someone that actually carries the JMC/Datech fan. He sent me a couple last week. Here's his site but you'll notice the 9232's aren't listed there. Call him and you can order them over the phone. He's got the exact model you need. I've been looking to get my hands on some of the famous Dell 92mm thermistor fans for a while and he's got a bunch. It's first time I've ever found any for sale.

EDIT - According to the guy that sold it to me, it is thermistor-controlled but it only has two speeds, 1000rpm and 4000rpm. He says the thermistor is set at 30°C so it jumps from 1000rpm to 40000rpm all at once when the temp goes over 30°C.

I just opened up a new dell, and they are that JMC make, but I do have 2 92mm NMB fans that I pulled from some slightly older dells

they are very quiet, very nice

still push good air too

let me know if you want one....or two
