I just bought a PNY GF4 MX 440 card to replace my aging Radeon 64DDR card. Previous to the Radeon card I had an ASUS 6800DLX VIVO card and previous to that I had a ATI AIW card. As you can see, I do a lot of video capturing and also have many devices connected to my system.( Playstaion, 3DO, VCR, Laser disc). I got tired of always paying top dollar for a VIVO type card and so I got the GF4 MX440 which lacks any VIVO, so now I am looking into a capture card or external device. The only critical thing is I need it to be able to encode MPEG2 and it must be 100 bucks or less. Any one have any info? Thanks.

Why not have a separate system that does all of that with one of your old cards if you still have any of them?

If you want an affordable video capture card, look at some of the Pinnacles, I hear they're pretty good.

Because my main system has over 380 gigs of HD space and is all SCSI U160. Speed is key for me. :) All my other systems, while fast, just dont compare.

I would recommend a cyberlail A/V car..I think it is called something like that.

Basically ANY input addon card will work great. Just dump the crappy software they give you amd use dscaler. (Website)
