I want a simple remote control for my pc that I can use to control the mouse without too much clumsiness and perhaps turn up & down the volume. Any suggestions?

most remote will be a hassle as a makeshift mouse. You'll want to find one with a trackball in it rather then arrow buttons. But those will be more exspencive. You also need to consider if you want an R/F or IR remote.

Now the only remote i've ever used is an ATI Remote wonder. Not sure they make them anymore. Now days all remotes are either part of a video capture or TV conversion deal or they are centered around MCE. So controlling mouse movement isn't an option or is very clumsy.

I'm reading reviews and they never seem to talk about the mouse and windows control. Do they even make remotes that can do this and control your components?
No longer looking for inexpensive...I'd like to get something powerful.

Like any PC remote you will find if it does control the mouse it will be threw the arrow buttons on the controler. Which will be slow and cumbersome. Most of these remotes are made specificly for Media Center use and not general windows navigation and use.
