I need a graphics card that has decent 3d and does not have a heatsink or fan. I am leaning towards under $70. Thanks:D

No HeatSink?
I can understand not wanting a fan so as to remove any noise, but why not at least a HeatSink?

I can think of many potential cards that ship with just a HS, or many that ship with a fan and will still run totally reliably if you take it off.... but with no heatsink even... your pretty much killing off all remotely modern cards. Damn near everything has at least a HS.

Good Question
I need a card with no heatsink or fan because I have a nice Oorb or Orange Orb lying around.

Then just remove the stock HSF, because your not likely to find anything much better then GF2 MX200 level performance with no HeastSink at all.

Yeah, I've though of that, but i'm not sure if the heat sink grease at my local radioshack would work on the fan

Yuo're really limiting urself for a card w/o a heatsink and fan, and if the card didn't need the heatsink and fan, the orb you have wouldnt' help it much.. lol

Well... if you really must have a card without any heatsink, then I can name a couple... but they won't be anything better then Voodoo3/TNT2/MX200 level performance, and you won't even really see any benefit to using an Orb on cards like those.

You really are better off just taking off the stock HSF, and if you are not willing to take it off... then IMHO just but a better card with a HSF and forget about using the Orb at all.

Because the cards that have no HeatSink or fan arent going to perform at all well compared to even a regular GF2 MX400 or so.

Thanks for the info
I guess I grab a friend over and work on removing the HSF from my card together. O yeah, last question. Do thermal tape work well on bonding a HSF to the Gpu?

Nope.. what i use.... u can put paste in the centnre, and use epoxy or super glue on the corners to make them stick...
