Need a decent beer

just something to drink, not get drunk off of.

anything good would work, im in Indiana, so anything BarBarry Liquors would have.

Cheap end - Goebel, the fine French beer.

High end - Gartenbrau Dark = good beer approved by thick necked guys named Gunter.
High end in season - Gartenbrau May Bock

Beats me. The only thing I get to use beer for anymore is cooking brats. FWIW, Schlitz goes for ~$3/ 6 pack where I live.

you gotta give some hints:

light, dark, red, hoppy, malty, fruity?

I like Killian's Irish Red. I like Guiness. I like Newcaste Brown Ale (even non-beer drinkers usually like this b/c it's more malty sweet as opposed to hoppy). I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (it's much more hoppy/bitter but quite tasty).

Shinerbock has been the staple beer in my fridge lately. Great stuff. Under $10 for a 12 pack.

Probably the best thing that's always on tap

Sam Adams Octoberfest. Enough taste so that you can sit back and enjoy it, but definitely capable of being pounded if thats what you want to do. I just tried it for the first time not even 5 minutes ago and it's pretty good.
