Need a couple stacked SATA ports for motherboard repair

Well, I had a bit of an embarrassing accident with my HTPC while adding a couple more drives to it. I had just finishing up adding them to the drive cage, plugged the SATA cables into the motherboard ports and was about to secure the drive cage to the case when it slipped out of my hands and dropped! Luckily, it didn't drop far enough to damage the drives. Unluckily, it did drop far enough to exceed the length of the SATA cables which then proceeded to rip two stacked SATA connectors from the motherboard.

The board is an ECS A855GM-A2 v1.1 and although the ECS website shows the board has 90 degree connectors, mine are vertical. Although I doubt it makes any difference which type I pick up.

I've tried searching, but I can't seem to find any company that sells SATA connectors. I have a cheap hot air rework station, so it should be a fairly simple repair.

Does anybody have any suggestions where to pick up a couple?

Mouser doesn't seem to have them, although their array of products is so mind-boggling I might have missed them. I wouldn't know where else to look.

He was talking stacked, and I did not see those. They've got to be out there somewhere, though.

I agree, someone out there must sell them. They've been put on motherboards in ever increasing numbers for years now. Too bad it wasn't an ASrock Z87 Extreme11/ac that I ripped them off from. I doubt I would have even missed them. :p

Possibly if somebody out there has a dead motherboard with a couple of stacked SATA ports, they could either unsolder them or just cut off the motherboard around them and I would be willing to pay shipping to me.

Well, how about something like this instead?

(I think you can find something similar on eBay: http://m.ebay.com/itm/281245398836?nav=VI )
This site is a bit annoying on my phone but might have what you want: http://www.te.com/catalog/bin/TE.Connect?S=23561&M=FEAT&P=&U=&BML=&LG=1&PG=1
Or just go to a local PC repair shop and ask to buy or scavenge a dead MB and just take the ports from there. Like you said there are many boards with these ports.

Well, I went to one shop already with no luck. I live in a small town, so there aren't many electronic repair shops.

It would be easiest for me to install a couple of brand new ports, if I could only find some place to purchase the silly things. I'm surprised that I simply cannot find any place online that sells them. They've been available on motherboards for years now.

I do believe this, or this is what you are looking for. Haven't used Alibaba before so can't recommend the site (or not) but these seem to be the parts you are looking for. They might also have a few more options. I got tired at about page 10 (out of many results).

Hmmmm... Looks like UP might have found some there. No prices displayed, but it looks like I can get a quote if I email them.

Thanks UP! I'll give that a shot and see what it'll cost to pick up a half dozen or so (I always like having spare parts).

NP. Glad to be of service. Let us know if you manage to order them. If not I'll go on the hunt again ;)
