Need a cool game

So lately it's just been homework/job/drinking...the usual. I'd like a nice game for some relaxation time. However all the shooters lately have been really boring to me, Prey, Condemned, etc. And I'm getting tired of replaying HL2 games. Most of the time when I give RTSes a try I don't feel like putting the effort in to really learn them and get good at them. For some strange reason I cannot identify the only RTS I've ever really enjoyed was Homeworld.

So do you have any game suggestions for me? Something fun that I don't need to really "learn" and devote serious time to? But not a shooter, unless it's really unique and is going to catch my attention.

Thanks.

Oblivion? Its like a shooter, but you can use magic instead of bows and swords. Also theres a lot of mods for it.

Some of my favourite titles are those that have a strong storyline, which makes the experience more like reading a book (or watching a movie) than a level-grind, deep strategy, or twitchy online play. Take, for example, an older FPS "No One Lives Forever 2". Exotic locales, humorous dialog, wide variety of missions, and a movie-like plot.

Homeworld 2 - Not quite as good as Homeworld but still very good with excellent graphics. More difficult than Homeworld though.
Darwinia - A different type of RTS. From the same people who made Defcon.
Psyconauts - An excellent platform game. Great reviews with not much retail success.
Chronicles of Riddick - Excellent, gritty FPS.
No One Lives Forever 2 - Great FPS with alot of humor.

Thanks for the titles!

Homeworld 2 owned me and I quit by the 4th level. Sad, I know.
Chronicles of Riddick? Surprising, from screens seems like it'd bore me like Doom 3/Prey do.
NOLF2 looks great!
Oblivion is probably a bit too involved for my tastes/time.
My roommate has been playing Defcon and it looks boring. Darwinia looks cool, though.
