Don't think i have ever seen a Chevy Chase bank. AFAIK, no banks here will let the school do it for free.

If you have a credit union nearby, they may have a free service for members. I know my local credit union lets us use their change machine for free.

Yeah... I'm too lazy to sort my own coins, so I just use the CoinStar machine at my local grocery store. They charge an 8% counting fee if you want cash back, but you can also get an amazon.com gift certificate instead and get that fee waived.

...doesn't help if the schoool needs to convert $1000 of change for charity. Going to a bank/ coin counting machine isn't going to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a coin counting machine?

Man, I wish we had that here. Bank One/ Chase and Bank of America both charge. I haven't tried Wells Fargo yet, but I think thats about it for the banks that we have here.

Wells Fargo has coin machines in some branches. Customers can dump their change and get cash; no fee is charged. If the branch doesn't have a coin machine, you'll have to sort and roll the dough -- but they'll give you the wrappers for free.

I'd say call wells fargo and hope they have a machine :D

There seems to be a few of them in Phoenix

Hey, we're just trying to give you some other ideas. 8% of $1,000 is still cheaper than a $150 counting machine, and would be a a lot quicker.

However, my Mom has been given the money to buy a machine for the school so that they can have one on campus. She said that they have to count the money by home room (because most of the fund-rasing that they do include competiotions).

So, I am only looking for suggestions for a coin sorting machine since I have had no experience with one.

Please, no more suggestions for banks.
