Need a co-op game

Need a co-op game for my friend and I. It has to be like a modern day type of thing as my friend doesn't like fantasy or sci-fi stuff, or really anything beyond shooters (which really limits us). A game with a co-op campaign mode would be really nice. I tend to not like the super realistic (or as I call them, slow, games) - GRAW was fine, but SWAT 4 was too slow.

His system is a bit lacking, to say the least, so this is another barrier we run into.

We've played:
CoD4
CoD - MW2
R6: Vegas
R6: Vegas 2
Ghost Recon and the expansion packs
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 1
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2
SWAT 4
 
Serious Sam and Borderlands aren't really fitting within the very limited genre he wants, I'm afraid there isn't much in terms of "recent" co-op modern day games, you've already listed pretty much what is out there, there's many other co-op games of course but your criteria leaves almost no choices.
 
Well, you skipped over COD : WaW, it has co-op too.
Operation Flashpoint 2: DR has a co-op mode. Haven't played it myself, not sure how "slow" it is.

Borderlands.....Co-op is fantastic in this game, there is tons of loot to be picked up.
GRAW & GRAW 2......great fun

Didn't know CoD -WaW had co-op. I'm not sure that he'd go for WW2 though.
I played a demo of Serious Sam and didn't like it.
We thought about L4D2, but he's not really into the zombie thing.
Borderlands sucks and is sci-fi.
Dawn of War 2 is an RTS and sci-fi.
Already played GRAW 1 and 2.
I tried Operation Flashpoint 2 and didn't really like it, although we may have to look into it.

I said most people didn't read the thread, i wasn't talking to you personally.

but obviously you didn't read the thread because I said he basically only likes shooters.

spaceman was being sarcastic. there have been some GREAT recommended shooters and you were putting them down for all the wrong reasons.

people who like shooters LOVE borderlands and left for dead and some others recommended. branch out, your missing out on a lot.

I considered your "modern" comment when suggesting WaW, but I assumed since it had guns as opposed to swords or lasers, it was within your guidelines. Besides, with the number of requirements you have, your choices are quite limited and you need to seriously consider all marginal cases.

If your friend wants a shooter, wants co-op and doesn't like Left 4 Dead he's not going to like anything. It sounds like he's way too picky, and needs to branch out a bit.

I would also recommend Serious Sam HD, or Borderlands, though Borderlands isn't for everyone (a lot of grinding/repetition).
 
Your friend is definitely way too picky. This doesn't really meet your criteria but it's fun for coop.

I like shooters and borderlands is just not fun.

I would play games like L4D2 but if my friend doesn't want to play it, then there's no point in me getting. Yes, I agree that he's too picky but I can't do anything about that.

what wrong reasons for putting down a game? if i played and it didn't like it, why the hell would I buy and play it if i don't like it?

Eliminating all "sci-fi" games just because they are "sci-fi" is rather stupid. If you could let go of your unexplained hatred for the genre for a minute and actually play the games, you'd see that they are worth your time, and not just garbage because they are "sci-fi."
 
On the other hand if anyone needs some non-whiny friends to play co-op games (or VS games) with feel free to PM me. ^_^
