Need a Chevy aficionados help

I don't know squat about GM cars, and my mom's Venture with the 3.4L V6 is throwing two DTCs, and I'm hoping someone out there can give me a hand.

The first one is P0442, commonly the "I forgot to tighten the gas cap all the way," code. Now she doesn't pump her own gas, I do and I'm certain I always tighten it correctly but to be safe I went out and took it off and tightened it again. However, is there anything else that could cause this?

Second is P1189, something to do with the oil pressure switch it self. She hasn't mentioned anything about a stop driving now light, so I'm pretty sure it's just the switch but I'd like a second opinion on the matter.

First code reset and put a small amount of Vaseline on the gas cap gasket. If the gasket is crackled badly then replace gas cap.

Second code tell her to check her oil level. If its low, really low, then add oil. If the oil level is fine then check the harness going to the Engine Oil Pressure Switch and if its still connected then replace the switch first and reset light.

Good advise and good place to start, keep in mind though there could be a small leak anywhere in the system and it will throw that code, if the gas cap isn't the problem he needs to look at hoses for any signs of cracking or dry rot or possible malfunctioning vent canister valves/ On my '05 Chevy the canister is placed in a somewhat vulnerable spot where road debris could possibly cause an issue. 442 is a vent control issue most likely a broken canister vent valve or possibly a damaged fuel tank pressure sensor from over filling.

the second hahahaha good luck with that one. my 3.4 has had a new one and it will not go away ever. live with it.

check the wires on the driver side under the sliding door on the bottom of the car and make sure the pink and white wires are in one piece
