need a check disk utility and disk defragger

I need a disk defragger and a check disk utility. Is there a program that does both? Besides the one bundled with XP, obviously. Just wondering which, if any, is considered the best one. Thanks in advance for your help.

Echo that! It's metaphor is much better than DK - in fact, it is very similar to the old Norton Speed Disk. And, it gives you good info on your Metadata and MFT System files, as well as showing you the size and location of your MFT Reserved Zone.

Two years ago I ran head to head tests between the latest DK and PD - PD won hands down - speed and accuracy. It is by Raxco of Canada.

As for Chkdsk - I just use it. I don't know of a combo.

And for a complete check and analysis of your system, your security, your hardwrae and software, to include serial and key ID numbers - try free Belarc Advisor. It's a great detailed system information tool.
