Sup folks, I'm looking to put a PC or laptop in the bedroom because I've become addicted to a few streaming audio channels on the web, and would like to have them playing in different rooms around the house.
I have a nice 5.1 surround system ready to hook up to the computer, so all I need is a cheap rig capable of opening web pages, then streaming the audio to Winamp.
I'm looking for something as cheap as possible that will get the job done...possibly an old Pentium 3 laptop with a sound card. Are those old laptops powerful enough to stream audio to a surround system? Or should I be looking to pick up a cheap Pentium 4 computer + monitor for this purpose?
