need a cheap solid notebook *help plz*

Hi, im a freshman college student and im finding it more and more a need to have a labtop....i don't needa game on it, i just need it to surf web, word process, and maybe some cpu itnesive progs like adobe....im on a budet of about 400-700

Check out Dell. You'll get a decent notebook at a good price. Make sure you also check their outlet since there tend to be good deals there (either on Core Duo or Core 2 Duo machines, maybe a few Pentium M machines). Finally, watch for coupons, but that probably won't be big since they usually have minimum spending amounts.

i agree with brainonska.

the dell coupons or usually for at least a $999 purchase so it'll be out of your range. if you can increase ur budget to around $800, then it's a different story. the coupons'll work and you may be able to look into a HP DV2000T

otherwise, go with the outlet and get a Core Duo for sure
