need a cheap solid mb

My gf is moving on from WOW to AOC, but her system is a bit lacking so I promised to upgrade her core components to make it very playable. I've pretty much decided on a E8400, 2gigs (is Gskill stable?), and possibly replacing her vid card (i got her a cheap one at xmas for wow, but it prob isnt enough for AOC). Probably no OC at all ever, I just want a cheap (its her money so no extravagance) rock solid mobo that can handle that cpu. Any recommendations? I've been out of the computer game since I upgraded myself a year ago.

I have the GA-EP35-DS3L for my E8400 and im using G.SKILL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) and it is VERY stable, it runs 24 / 7 with both core at 100% and I know your not OCing it but im running it like that at 3.7 Ghz

Some people claim to have problems with the board, but as of last night I now have 5 friends that I seen with that board and have had no problem

We also bought the boards from NewEgg

Hope that helps

Yeah thats excellent. I'm hearing that the P35s are very mature and stable now, so I'm really trying to cut down costs because I'm gonna try to convince her to spend a bit more for a 9600gt to replace the 8600gt I got her a few months ago lol. Do you happen to know what the difference is between the gigabyte P35 and EP35? thanks again

Yep, as long as you don't plan on overclocking. (Even if you do, you could just change the RAM multiplier)
