Need a budget wireless setup

Hi, I want to get another computer online cheaply. I already have a wired DI-604 on my main computer and I'm trying to avoid running cable to the 2nd. My main computer also has a dsl modem and Vonage. Whatever wireless solution we go with needs to be stable for my main machine. Both computers will be on the same floor and both machines are desktops.

What do you think about this "kit"? I can get it for $35 shipped. It seems to have a decent rating at buy.com. If you have a look at this one, check out the specs and advise please.

I was also thinking about the Trendnet TEW-432BRP for $25 (free shipping at buy.com) and some sort of adapter. Is this an ok router?

For an adapter, maybe the EDIMAX EW-7128G which seems to be rated very well but doesn't include shipping.

Thanks for your reply JackMDS. I see that the ASUS is one of the recommended routers in this link I snagged from you in another thread. http://www.ezlan.net/wlan_router.html I guess I can't go wrong with any of the 3 routers mentioned.

I'm still curious about the Zyxel kit if anyone is familiar with it.

Zyxel in general produces good Wireless.

I do not like the Thumb Clients unless it is a spare to be used for short period of times.

The small Plastic Wireless USB clients have lousy heat deception and they tend to get Hot with prolong use and eventually fail.

There was one review that mentioned his USB client got very warm and lost connection. I really appreciate the fact that an expert confirmed this is the norm such a device. I will definitely avoid them.

Edit: As an update, I went ahead and bought the EDIMAX EW-7128G. Will decide on a router soon.

I finally went with the ASUS WL-520gU so it will be wired to my computer and used to send a signal to the other computer with the Edimax EW-7128G. Does anyone have any tips or links I can look at before installing the router? It should arrive here sometime tomorrow.

1. Does the ASUS WL-520gU have a full blown SPI firewall? I know it says it does but is it the real thing? Sorry, I don't know that much about firewalls and networks.

2. Do I need to install anything or can I configure the router through my browser?

Any other advice will be appreciated. I'll probably wait a while before considering DD-WRT. Also, does using DD-WRT on a router like this void the warranty?

I did finally get my modem into bridged mode and configured the ASUS for PPPoE. It took a long while and after that, I finally was able to get Vonage up and running.

I have the modem hooked in the routers WAN and then my computer and Vonage on the routers LAN. Does that sound ok?
