Need a better HSF

I'm running an 1800+ on a retail HSF. with 79F room temp, i get idle 48C and load at 52C. i plan to get a better HSF and i was wondering what was the best bang for my buck

Best bang for the buck is the SVC Compucycle GC68. Link
It is only $5.99 plus shipping (low USPS rates). It should cool your 1800 fine with the stock fan even with mild overclocking. You can get a faster (louder) fan if you need it. For good cooling and low price, this heatsink/fan combo can't be beat.

Do you plan on overclocking? If the answer is no, I wouldn't bother with a new hsf. Those temps are actualy pretty good for a retail heatsink.

Slap a big, cheap, copper HS on there with some AS3, and mod on one of those $21 "Tornado" Fans from www.coolerguys.com. Nothing like 84 CFM blowing across a block of copper to tame that fireball.

(If we arent pouring liquids or chemicals through the pc, that is.)
