My dad asked me to find him a battery for his Zenith Data Systems Z-Star 433VL. Where could I buy old batteries? I have the notebook and the dead battery here, so if you need the specs I can give them.

ebatts.com

Try that link - I hope it works -if not just go to ebatts.com and search for it. $129 with free shipping. I never bought from them, so I don't know how their service is. Also you could try accessmicro.com. Hope this helps.

Another option is to try surplus auctions, lots of govt places have them

If there is a large university nearby, check with them. When equipment gets old, people send it to surplus, and when surplus gets filled up, they auction stuff out. I know a guy that picked up a pallete of 486 towers (something like 25 of them) for $300. Don't ask me why he wanted them....

Koni: No luck on e*ay ;)

$129... man that's a lot, more than a 486 notebook alone I bet!

that's about the best you'll find for a new battery. if you can track down a refurb you might do a little better, but most laptop batteries run between 80-150+ bucks. being that the laptop is an older model, of course you pay a little more. we use www.batteriesplus.com (local store) at work.
