Need a backup service or online storage.

My sister is a doctor and needs a cheap online service to back up a couple of gigs of pictures, medical data, powerpoints etc. She probably produces 20 megs of data a month but wants to keep the stuff for basically the rest of her life. Anyone know of the best place to do that?

wtf google e-mail gives you 3 gigs of space for free. How can it really be that expensive? 10 gigs should be more than enough room for her.

uploading a couple gigs and downloading a couple gigs back, not worth the effort. i like my data the instant i click the button, but that's just me. 🙂
 
Online service for GIGS sucks.. I got 40 gigs of photos & videos.. no way i'm uploading that..

I got a file server and a sdlt backup drive
 
not to mention, there are certain rules in regards to how you can store your patient information. THe medical groups do not take lightly the saftey of the information. So you may not be able to just upload to something like a free ftp... Not to mention, I doubt she has a blazing fast connection, so 20 gigs will take a while.

I would also vote for the local storage on a HD or a server that grabs everything. You do not have to have it to tape, since tapes are a hassle too, but a network/USB drive isn't a bad idea. Just make sure you lock that puppy up!

This totally depends on the type of information. BUt ya, I'm probably just going to USB drive her stuff.
