Need a AMD dual core for under $350

I am looking for a dual core under $350 that will overclock to atleast 2.6ghz because my old venice is seeing its age.

x2 3800 for $297 at Newegg
Opty 165 for $327 at Newegg
x2 4200 for $357 at Newegg

And if you can stretch your budget by $50..
Opty 170 for $399 at Newegg

If you can't exceed your budget, I'd say get the 3800 or the Opty 165. Both of those should overclock nicely..

I am hitting around 2.75ghz with it and with the hot weather at 1.65 volts ist not stable anymore and the 9X multiplier sucks (3000+). I was thinking I want to upgrade new proc and memory and I have only $500 dollars so. I dont want to wait for am2 and am completely upgrading to conroe this winter.

I love it when people decide what they are buying now...especially before the product hasn't even hit the sotres or an independent reviewer (or anand). Anyway, upgrading your system now (better processor and 2gbs of ram if you need it) isn't really a bad idea, considering AM2 doesn't APPEAR to have any benefits atm (things can and do change however). I'd go with the opteron 165

I have only have $500 dollars and even if conroe come out tomorrow, it would'nt even be an option because of money. Thats why I want a couple of small upgrades to last 9 months.
Because of this should I go dual core or just buy a operton 146 and just wait till then for a dual core? I am also upgrading to 2gb of ddr500($150). Another reason for upgrading is the heat problem and I really dont want to drop my venice to 2.6ghz or 2.5ghz

If you want 2nd hand, I can sell you mine because I got ordered a new PC last night.

Opteron 165. Overclocked stable to 2.75Ghz on air. It made it at 2.79Ghz but 3Dmarks crashes.

Name a reasonable price.
