Need a 2.5 in external drive

I need the external for a few weeks but after that I wanna take the HD out and put it in my PS3 and put the PS3 HD into the external. Any externals out there that are easy to take apart?

Most 2.5" external cases have 2 screws.

Buy any 2.5" drive and put it in the case.

Or am I way off base here?

Yeah, that seems like the obvious solution.

Buy external case
Buy 2.5" HD
put them together when you need external
separate them when you don't

Usually considerably cheaper than a retail branded "external drive" too. You pay a lot for their packaging, assembly and software compared to a bare drive plus some random plastic case and SATA to USB or SATA to e-SATA interface.

retail brand "external drive" is an internal drive inside an external enclosure... if you crack the enclosure open you will find an internal drive inside (it might actually be labeled as a stand alone drive from some manufacturers)...
the problem is that if it fails (which is often due to the enclosure failing), then you void your warranty by removing the drive to test it by itself (to recover data... assuming you didn't back up). And the external enclosures sold like that cannot be taken apart without ruining them (intentional, they don't want you reusing or upgrading them)

yeah i guess i'll just do the case adn the drive option. i'm just nervous about getting a case cause the last one i bought didn't work and most externals are not too much more expensive than buying them separately.
